The day Prince William and Kate Middleton announced their engagement holds a high place in my life. The British royal family happens to be another interest of mine, so that combined with weddings? BINGO! I mean, I watched the royal wedding live at 4AM complete with tea and scones. Some might say wanna-be, I say enthusiastic!
Kate's ring was a special momento, since it had previously belonged to William's mother, the beloved Princess Diana. Apperantly after their mother's passing, the boys were asked what they would like to keep of hers and Harry had the idea to get the ring. They agreed whoever got engaged first would use the special piece, so the spare was happy to oblige and give it to William to use for the future Queen.
I'm seeing more and more saphire, aquamarine, topaz and other blue gemstone rings lately. Whether they be engagement or a right-hand ring, a little bit of blue sparkle is the perfect way to complete your wedding look (and your something blue!)
Anyone else rocking a blue stone? My BFF got one a few months before Kate from her boy and we like to think the royals followed her lead ;) You never know!
Make it a good one!
